PRAYERS & BLESSINGS
For our Beloved Canine Companions and the Owners they adore!
Our pets depend on us for all their needs, and when they become ill, it can become all-consuming. Thankfully we can turn to God for help.
Prayer is one of the most powerful tools we have to help us get through tough times. It’s our life line and ongoing conversation with our Creator God. For pet owners, prayer is a huge comfort because we know that God cares for our pets and understands how important they are to us.
The following are a few short prayers you may wish to read and speak to God. May you find comfort and consolation as you pray, knowing that God hears our prayers and is longing to provide the comfort, courage, and strength for the situation you may be facing. You may also like to pass them along to other pet owners.
May God bless you and your beloved pets!

A BLESSING FOR OUR PETS
This is an excerpt from the book, Pawz and Pray, Short Reflections about God, Life, and the Dogs I Love!
In some Catholic Churches it’s around the time of the feast of St Francis in October and this is the prayer that they often used. . .
“Blessed are you, Lord God, maker of all living creatures. You called forth fish in the sea, birds in the air and animals on the land. You inspired St. Francis to call all of them his brothers and sisters. We ask you to bless this pet. By the power of your love, enable it to live according to your plan. May we always praise you for all your beauty in creation. Blessed are you, Lord our God, in all your creatures! Amen.”
Philippians 4:6-7 NLT
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.
Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done.
Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds
anything we can understand. His peace will guard your
hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
Prayer for the Animals
by Albert Schweitzer
Hear our humble prayer, O God, for our friends, the animals.
Especially for animals who are suffering; for any that are
hunted or lost or deserted or frightened or hungry;
for all that must be put to death.
We entreat for them all Thy mercy and pity,
and for those who deal with them, we ask a
a heart of compassion and gentle hands and kindly words.
Make us, ourselves, to be true friends to animals,
and so to share the blessings of the merciful.
