“Taste and see that the Lord is good.” ~Psalm 34:8
Life doesn’t always feel good, yet the Psalmist writes, “Taste and see that the Lord is good.”
Jesus never promised us a “feel good” life. Rather, He promised us HIS LIFE. And He is good, no matter how circumstances appear. While speaking to His disciples about the troubles that were ahead, He says, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
Are you feeling discouraged today? Take heart. The Lord is good. He has overcome all the works of the evil one! When we place our trust fully in Him, He becomes a shelter for our storms and the solid foundation on which we can stand amidst life’s ever changing ground! We just need to awaken our senses to taste and see the blessings that already surround us … especially the blessings in His Word.
His Word is life,
His Word is healing,
His Word is wisdom, strength, and hope for troubled times!
Take time to be with God each day, like you would a close friend. Talk to Him, love Him, enjoy Him, thank Him. Read, meditate, study, and savor His Holy Word. Let it nourish your soul. Taste and see that the Lord is good …
“How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!” ~ Psalm 119:103
“My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body.” ~ Proverbs 4:20-22
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever.” ~ Psalm 136:1
May you know how wide and high and deep God’s love is for you!
