Feeling blue? Be forewarned, when coming into contact with a dog, you might catch some happy hormones!
If you’re feeling sad, there’s probably one thing you’re looking for . . . RELIEF! In other words, you want to be happy again. Happiness can be found in many places, but none more available and sure than in the arms of your dog!
Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again–my Savior and my God! Psalm 43:5
Sometimes we just need a little word of encouragement to help us on our way. I pray this Bible verse and comforting image of my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel will be a ray of sunshine for your day. There’s just something so special about the loving gaze of my dogs. It’s as if God is speaking through them saying,
I love you dear child. I am with you. I will never leave you nor forsake you.
“I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” —Matthew 28:20
Shock, disbelief, and fear gripped my heart! I watched helplessly as our house filled with smoke knowing that my dogs were still inside.
Neverwas the Human-Canine Bond more evident than when I experienced a house fire! My husband had been relocated and was house hunting in another state, so I found myself all alone. Well, not really. I had my dogs! The story I’m about to share reaffirmed how incredibly powerful the human-canine bond is in helping people deal with stressful events.
Dogs are good for our health! Each time I hug my dogs I feel more hopeful, happier, and healthier!
I’ll never forget coming home after an appendectomy, having some complications, and spiraling into depression due to the ongoing pain. My doctors were amazing, and prescribed what I needed to heal physically. But emotionally, it was another story.
